Reverse Vista Font Fix

Last week I mentioned that Chris Pirillo had created a registry hack to make all of the fonts in Windows Vista consistent. Some people didn't like the hack and others applied it and wanted to go back.
I had saved my registry to text files before applying the patch so I created this reverse reg hack if other people want to go back to the default Vista fonts.

reversefontfix.reg (right click and save then run)

The usual caveat should be applied to all registry hacking. I can't be responsible for you messing up your system by applying this patch. Proceed with caution.

  • Thanks for that, I tried manually reversing the changes, but that didn't quite work for Firefox or uTorrent. Chris's fix is fine, but it screwed up 3DS MAX which I use a lot. Appreciate you posting the fix.

  • Likewise. I found that PDFs and word documents were screwed with this fix. Thanks for the reversal!

  • Thanks a lot. The "fix" made it so I could no longer use Times New Roman and Arial in ANY application including creating a Word document.

I like font consistency too, but can it be done without nuking the most common fonts ever used on web pages and documents?

  • You are a lifesaver (well, maybe not quite, but hey...) ^^

Installed the so called "Fix" without backing up the registry or making any sort of system restore point, and up 'till finding this, I thought the only way to get the regular fonts back was to reinstall Vista.

    Thanks again :3
