    Google has just released an alternative player for Google Reader that gives those with a penchant for browsing news the ability to do so in an image-heavy, TV-like fashion.
    Dubbed Google Reader Play, the new tool is an experimental Google Labs project that presents stories one by one — based on their Recommend Items technology — using enlarged photos and auto-playing videos (in lieu of text) on a black backdrop.     As some of you know, I have a close relative came down with cancer last year (he chooses to remain unnamed, but his cancer is now in remission). It turns out that my Cousin Paula (photo below) also came down with breast cancer last year, too (also in remission).   • New Hard Drives May Force XP Users to Upgrade to 7 – As a warning, it’s not all that dire, but it is a wake-up call for Windows XP users–newer hardware just might make your XP life a bit less comfortable. In this case, hard drives coming out starting January 2011 will have a new formatting standard that will make them less compatible with XP, and will result in performance slowdowns.
