• Windows 7 includes support for Dolby Digital Plus – Microsoft has added support for Dolby Digital Plus in most versions of Windows 7. The Plus version of Dolby Digital not only supports higher bit rates than the classic Dolby Digital, but it also offers better sound quality at the same bit rate — it is not lossless like Dolby TrueHD though
• Google Chrome 4 launches with bookmark synchronization – Google has just announced a brand new version of Chrome in the Dev channel that includes Bookmark synchronization.
• Mozilla Rids of .Net-hatin' Firefox 3.5, Replaces it with a Friendlier Version – As long as you're running the most recent version of Firefox, this looks to be a moot issue. Released earlier this month, Firefox 3.5.2 appears to play nice with .Net,

• DIM: Digital Image Mover – DIM only does one thing, but it does it well: it copies files from your camera’s memory card to a destination directory determined by your storage scheme. If any directories need to be created in the process, it will create them. In addition, the file can be renamed while it is copied to a more “useful” name than your camera might have provided.

• CSS-Tricks #41: WordPress as a CMS – In this screencast Chris Coyier attempts to show off a number of WordPress features that make it very “CMS-like” in my opinion. Including page templates, dynamic menus, parent-child relationship pages, and using posts as ancillary content.
• Leo Babauta Interviews Merlin Mann – Leo Babauta is releasing as a free audio download his recent interview with top productivity blogger and speaker Merlin Mann of the incredibly popular 43 Folders blog. Merlin is also known for his Inbox Zero series, his speeches on productivity, his video podcasts including the Merlin Show and MacBreak, and other creative work.
• DIY IKEA Digital Photo Frame – The simple mod doesn't take much doing, but the nice black frame goes a long way toward classing up a cheap digital frame.

Sites that I found interesting for December 11th 2008 through December 19th 2008:

• Access more memory, even on a 32-bit system – No matter how much memory you have in your PC, you may not be getting the most out of your installed RAM.
• Form Bookmarklets – Makes the browser ignore web site requests to not remember passwords.

  Some sites, including many banks and a few other sites such as Yahoo Mail and Microsoft Passport, tell browsers not to remember passwords for visitors using autocomplete="off". This bookmarklet makes the browser ignore autocomplete="off" temporarily, allowing you to save passwords even on sites that use autocomplete="off".

• Oppo Readies Universal Blu-ray Player – Value video products manufacturer Oppo Digital said it is preparing to enter the Blu-ray Disc player category in a big way, with a fully featured “universal” unit supporting, DVD video, DVD-Audio, and SACD, in addition to Blu-ray Discs with up to 1080p/24Hz output.
