The Split Browser extension for Firefox is very handy. With it you can split content area of the browser window as you like. It will come in handy in various circumstances. Such as, comparing multiple webpages, to showing  a calendar always, easily cut and paste between a web page and your web email, and more. You simply right click and choose Split Browser. You can split right, left, top or bottom. Additionally, you can right click on a link and have it open in a split.
