People seem to think that companies will just raise the price of the box $40 dollars. They don’t get it. Companies like Best Buy will take a loss if they need to and get Mom and Dad in the store with a coupon for an essentially free box. These are people who haven’t shopped for a TV in 20 years now standing in a store they usually drive past. Sure, some will take their ‘free’ box and go home and most will buy a nice expensive new tv. Capitalism my friends.
I am looking for information on the disposal of existing TV sets. Many of the current TV’s are not worth the upgrade of a DTV converter, but I recall that there are special requirements for environmentally safe disposal. Any leads, comments on this?
