Amazon to compete with iPod

New York Times reports that Amazon is going to work with manufacturers on a portable device to compete directly with Apple's iPod. The device will be built with an Amazon music service in mind so that subscriptions would be easy. Their idea is that people default to iPod because it's just easier than other Windows music devices.
