FCC: Let users set cable TV lineups
USAToday: In a sharp reversal, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission said Tuesday that the agency now thinks cable companies should stop forcing people to subscribe to bundles of channels and give them the option of choosing individual channels.
Seems like a good idea to me. We get the most basic of basic cable. Just don't need all the rest of it. However, there are a couple channels beyond basic that I would probably watch but I can't get them without a huge jump in price to the next level up.
This will be an interesting space to watch in the coming months. Especially as cable companies are balking at the whole decision.
